Do, with like timorous accent and dire yell As when, by night and negligence, the fire Is spied in populous cities.- Iago (Othello)
Iago said this to Roderigo, encouraging him to be noisy and clamorous to Brabantio. He wanted Rodergio to shout to Brabantio, as if his house was on fire. Even though Iago has an inner motive and this is in a different context, I liked his quote because it can be used to motivate us to have a grand entrance and to be known. There are many times in life where we will just quietly enter. But I think it would be nice if we could enter in a fashionable and confident style.
For example, in the show The Big Bang Theory, one of my many shows that I watch, Sheldon Cooper has a systematic way of knocking on people’s doors. He will knock three times and then call out the recipient of the knocks. Although Penny, Leonard, and his other friends may get annoyed of this, they do admit that it is endearing and adorable. They also know it is Sheldon outside the door because it is his signature entrance!
Life can go by fast and sometimes you don’t realize what you could’ve done until you’re looking back. And maybe you’re unsure of yourself, but at make yourself known to the world!
